Recommended Reading

I am frequently asked by patients, "If I wanted to learn more about acupuncture, could you recommend a book?" What follows is a list of the books that I most frequently recommend. I have also provided links to either Google Books or Amazon.com so that you can see the cover and flip through a few pages of the book yourself.

Title: The Web That Has No Weaver
Author: Ted Kaptchuk
This book explains Oriental Medical theory assuming no prior knowledge. The author is very respected in the acupuncture community.

Title: Healing With Whole Foods: Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition (3rd Edition)
Author: Paul Pitchford
I often provide dietary recommendations to my patients, so that they can support their healing process. This book not only helps you find foods according to your Oriental Medical diagnosis, but it is teaches you recipes and how to work with unfamiliar ingredients. Don't know what "amaranth" is or how to use it? You can learn about the grain itself and find recipes so that you can easily add it to your diet.

Say Goodbye to Asthma,
Say Goodbye to Children's Allergies,
Say Goodbye to ADD and ADHD,

Eliminate Your Pet's Allergies,
Living Pain Free
Author: Dr. Devi Nambudripad, M.D., D.C., L.Ac., Ph.D.(Acu.)
This series of book explains NAET treatments, which are are a non-invasive means of permanently eliminating allergic reactions. Dr. Nambudripad's philosophy is that many, even very difficult, health conditions are the results of allergies and sensitivities.

Because my NAET patients are required to read at least one of these titles, they are all available for purchase at the Feel Good Acupuncture office. For reviews of each of these books, and more information on NAET treatments, please see the NAET page on this website.

Title: Vibrational Medicine: The #1 Handbook of Subtle-Energy Therapies
Author: Richard Gerber, M.D.
This book functions as a scientific review of many aspects of vibrational medicine, including acupuncture. This is not light reading, but incredibly interesting, especially if you are interested in mapping quantum physics to energy healing.
