NAET

In addition to traditional Oriental Medical services such as Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, my practice includes the option of NAET treatments.

What is NAET?

NAET is the acronym for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. This is a non-invasive technique for both identifying and treating allergies and sensitivities that are creating blockages in your energy system. This system was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in 1983 and has since been in use by thousands of allopathic and complimentary practitioners worldwide. For a history of NAET, the NAET website provides several resources for potential patients to explore:

Why NAET?

NAET is based on Oriental Medical principles, even though it is not traditional Oriental Medicine. Oriental Medicine (including Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine) can address a wide variety of complaints, including allergies. My experience has been that for some allergies, acupuncture and herbal medicine alone can keep allergic symptoms under control.

NAET offers treatment from a different angle. While acupuncture and herbal medicine can strengthen the body's defenses so it can better handle the offending allergen, NAET instead completely desensitizes the body to the allergen so that it is no longer a threat. After a successful treatment, the body will no longer be allergic to the item treated, even with continued and chronic exposure. In the case of nutritional allergies and food allergies, not only will the item no longer be considered an allergen to the body, but the body will able to properly utilize the nutritional content that the food item has to offer.

Do I have to receive an acupuncture treatment in order to do NAET treatments?

No, you do not need to receive an acupuncture treatment in order to start eliminating your allergies with NAET. NAET treatments can be done entirely with acupressure, which involves massaging acupuncture points instead of using needles in the points.

Many of my patients however, prefer having an acupuncture treatment prior to their NAET treatment. This helps to strengthen the body and address any pain or illness they may have while they work on one allergen at a time. For example, if you have many allergies that contribute to a pain condition, it may take many treatments to eliminate all of the allergies that generate pain in your body. In this case, I would advise the patient to start receiving acupuncture treatments to keep the pain symptoms under control while we identify and treat the offending allergens, one by one from week to week. This will make the patient most comfortable while we take the time required to treat the allergies properly.

If however, a patient is afraid of needles, or would simply like to save the expense of an acupuncture treatment, I am very happy to do only NAET on that patient. I do not require my patients to receive acupuncture in order to receive an NAET treatment.

Where can I read more about NAET treatments?

I carry the the following titles in my office. I encourage all prospective patients to choose a "Say Goodbye to ..." title before beginning treatment. These treatments require patient participation and this is most easily done if the patient understands how the NAET system works.

If it is inconvenient to stop by my office in person to pick up a copy of the book that interests you, most of these titles are available on Amazon.
